Privacy policy

The short version

bmibmrcalc.com is a free calculator site. The calculators themselves run in your browser — the figures you type (weight, height, age, goals, weigh-ins) are processed on your device to produce results and are not sent to or stored on our servers. Anything you save, such as a tracker log or a plan, is kept locally in your own browser or encoded in a link you choose to copy. We do use third-party services for analytics and advertising, described below, which set cookies and collect some usage data.

What we collect directly

Calculator inputs: processed in your browser to compute results; not transmitted to us. Saved data: the progress tracker and planner can store data in your browser's local storage or in a shareable link — this stays on your device unless you share the link. You can clear it any time by clearing your browser data. We do not require or offer accounts, and we don't ask for your name, email, or payment details to use the tools.

Third-party services we use

To keep the site free, we rely on the following third parties. Each has its own privacy policy governing the data it collects, and each may set cookies or use similar technologies:

• Google Analytics (GA4) — measures aggregate, anonymised usage (pages viewed, approximate region, device type) so we can understand what's useful and fix problems. It does not tell us who you are. Google's handling of this data is covered by the Google Privacy Policy. We use Consent Mode, so analytics and ad cookies are gated by your consent choice where required.
• Google AdSense — serves advertising. Google and its partners may use cookies to show ads, and, with consent where required, personalised ads based on prior visits to this and other sites. You can review and control ad personalisation at Google My Ad Center, and learn more in the Google Ads policy.
• Adsterra — an additional advertising network that may also serve ads and set cookies. Its practices are described in the Adsterra Privacy Policy.

Cookies and consent

Cookies are small files stored by your browser. We and the services above use them for analytics and advertising. If you're in a region that requires it (such as the EU/EEA, UK, Switzerland, or California), you'll be shown a consent choice, and analytics and advertising cookies are withheld until you agree. You can change or withdraw consent at any time through the site's consent controls, and you can block or delete cookies in your browser settings — the calculators will still work.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data, or to opt out of personalised advertising or the "sale"/"sharing" of data as defined by laws like the GDPR and CCPA/CPRA. Because we don't collect personal data directly or hold accounts, most such requests concern the third parties above — their linked policies explain how to exercise those rights with them. For anything else, contact us (below) and we'll help where we can.

Children

This site is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent age in your region), and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.
